It might not look like much, but the Sauvie Island hike left me waking up to sore hips and legs the next morning. A nice easy 6 mile hike out and back took us along the beach of the Columbia River up to the Warrior Rock Lighthouse (pictures coming soon on my flickr account). Dan and I got a bit of a late start in the day, had no idea where we were going, and didn't even know where the trail head was.Once we got going though, we saw the nest of a Bald Eagle, very cool, and some other water fowl that were too far away for us to identify. Also, there were a handfull of nanner slugs on the trail that were the size of my hand. They're nasty looking suckers, but very cool to come across.
Hiking the trail was a great way to spend a lazy Sunday with my husband in the outdoors. We'll defenitly be back.
